Solar Power
Can Solar Energy Replace Fossil Fuels
The Sun holds so much energy that can't even be fathomed by human production and a lot of this energy is distributed to the Earth. Man has just recently looked into harnessing the Sun's energy and is still far away from truly adapting the energy delivered constantly to the Earth into power to run these massive cities. Solar technology is increasing but not at an outstanding rate. Solar collectors have improved and the prices of the technology have slightly dropped but is still lacking. Just like how computers used to be, solar technology and products are similar to ancient computers in technology and prices. There is still so much room for improvement in parts, ideas, and applications.
There needs to be major improvements to solar technology and this requires more investment which just is not getting there. More research and ideas on absorbing and storing the energy from the Sun's rays need to be discovered and then producing solar generators for all types of applications may be possible. However, there are still hurdles in the process including those produced by advocates of fossil fuels which currently hold the world in a tight grip. It is decent progress that some applications are starting to develop including massive solar collectors capable of providing energy for small cities and solar panels for buildings. Until solar power can truly be harnessed, there is no way it can replace the power and massive use of fossil fuels but it still offers high hopes.
